Most Shocking Video On The Internet!

For those who haven’t heard about it, "2 Girls, 1 Cup" is the latest internet video sensation.  There are loads of videos with millions of views on YouTube featuring people watching a horrifically graphic video involving 2 women, 1 cup, and bodily fluids.  The funny thing, most people have probably never seen the ACTUAL video - the phenomenon and entertainment factor is in witnessing the reactions of others watching it.  People screaming, dry-heaving, running away - they are genuine reactions of disgust, shock, and amazement.  Here’s a compilation sampler:

WELL, Jordan at CBC Radio 3 has created a tribute called "2 Girls, 1 Bed" based on a new ‘controversial’ video from beloved Canadian singer-songwriter, Hayden.  There are reactions and the ACTUAL video!!! Check it out…

My Father’s Ridiculous iPod Playlist

My father got a new iPod for Christmas and he’s been busy loading it up with tunes and playlists.  I had a look at the playlists to check out his work and discovered that he’d named one of them "Listening Music."  "Listening Music."  What else are you going to do with music besides listen to it? How can "listening music" be any different than the entire contents of your music library?
I have bugged him relentlessly about it and yet he still maintains that it’s an appropriate name for a playlist. To me, it’s like having a list of "Eating Foods" or "Reading Books."  Either that or my father is so far advanced that he’s found ways to enjoy music that no one else has discovered.  I should’ve looked further - maybe there were other futuristic playlists like "Time Traveling Music."

Radio 3 Music Player Evolves!

We just launched a new version of the CBC Radio 3 music player yesterday and it’s pretty frickin’ cool.  You can create a user account and then completely personalize your listening experience.  You can create your own playlist and then add all your favourite tracks from the site.  And THEN, you can email your playlist (or individual tracks) around to others… or post your playslist on your blog :-)

It’s pretty neat, because you can add tracks
from any of the concerts or sessions on the site, from any of the existing Radio 3 playlists, or from any track playing on the streaming radio station.  Soon, all of the 38,000 tracks from New Music Canada will be available to add to playlists, too.  Try it out and let me know what you think!
