Cedar witnessed her first Santa Claus parade in downtown Vancouver today. It was foggy, but dry and it was actually quite a lot of fun… for the first hour. This parade went on for TWO HOURS!!! TWO HOURS of a 35 pound child on your shoulders is a recipe for a bent spine and crippling back pain. But in the end she Santa Claus and everyone else saw Cedar’s ass crack…

This is the best time of year for fun weather in Vancouver. True, most of the time it’s pouring rain, but when it clears, you can get spectacular snowy mountain views… or socked-in fog.

We celebrated the Maggot’s birthday a day early so we could take more time to have fun on a weekend. As shown here, she received a new rainjacket, some pajamas covered in sushi, several books, and a subscription to Oprah. We had a lovely roast beef dinner and watched a horrid Ashton Kutcher movie. Wooooo! Happy Birthday, Maggot!

After loads of rain the last couple weeks, we got our first glimpse of the mountains in a while today and they were coated in fresh snow. Cedar and I went up to check it out, make snow angels, and a Crazed Snow Dog!

Cedar turned three today and received a huge-ass pile of gifts from family and friends. Her instant favourite was not a shocker for anyone who knows Cedar: a baby. This brings her baby collection up to roughly 437. She also got lots of great books, puzzles, a few videos, a LeapPad, a cool ViewMaster, and a ukulele.
